Rebook, 2018
Design: Viki Nagy, S Mate Olah
Material: Repurposed paper waste, posters
Our intention is to show a simple solution for upcycling used materials.
During the regular recycling process, chemicals and water are used to remove the ink and coatings from the paper.
By repurposing printed media, giving them a new shape and function without recycling the papers, a new product can be manufactured with lower environmental impact.
We are actively seeking partners who share our vision of promoting sustainability through repurposing outdated printed materials into unique merchandise products.
If you are interested in collaborating with us towards this shared goal, we would be delighted to hear from you.
tips & tricks for making your own Rebook
Viki Nagy started making sketchbooks from old posters and flyers in 2012. She couldn't resist and often brought nice flyers, and other paper materials home.
When her room overfilled with the hoarded papers, she had to find a solution. She couldn’t just throw these materials away, they were too precious for her because of the quality paper, nice graphics or interesting information on them.
She bind these papers together and found out that certain pieces have a blank backside which was perfect for sketching, drawing and writing notes on.
Since 2018, Viki and S Mate Olah are working together on the project. They developed a family of stationary products (planner, sketch- and notebooks.)
