We participated in SaloneSatellite during Milan Design Week this year (2024),
an event dedicated to highlighting new voices in design.
As part of the wider Salone del Mobile, SaloneSatellite creates a space for emerging designers to share their work with an international audience.
It was a great opportunity to meet people, exchange ideas and connect with people who share a passion for design.
In 2025, we’ll return to SaloneSatellite to showcase new work.
Below you can read about the work we presented this year at SaloneSatellite.
This is the Hako Cabinet, our first flatpack mono-material metal furniture. We derived the hangers from the parts of the cabinet and assembled the cabinet with bolts and nuts so it can be easily disassembled. We finished the surface with mineral oil to let the raw qualities of aluminium shine.
If you would like to discover more about mono-material metal furniture, check these articles out featuring us:
The OO cut-out table was designed based on the OO stool, a flatpack mono-material stool. The parts are CNC milled and thanks to the joinery they can be assembled without any glue, nails or screws.
We derived parts of the plant pot from the table top and from the off-cuts, aiming to use every bits and pieces of the precious material.
The shape of the pot and its wavey lines were chosen to prevent smaller objects, like a pen, falling through the holes of the table.
This way we could create an additional object while keeping the table just as functional as any ordinary coffee table.
The third mono-material object we presented at SaloneSatellite was the One piece lamp. Two versions was made, one from ash and one from pine.
Our starting point was again a flat piece of material.
We took a shaving of the flat wooden board and bent the thin veneer around to create a translucent lampshade.
Our intention is to explore how the position of the knots on the body and the shade can narrate where the thin veneer came from and how the One piece lamp was made.
