Moka Flick Concept, 2018
Moka pot coffee brewer analysis:
Sometimes a Moka pot can be challenging to open and disassemble. Its body is dangerously hot which prevents the user from brewing more potions in a row.
After summarizing all the advantages and disadvantages of a traditional Moka pot and the threaded join, the idea of the Moka Flick started taking shape. Through the sketches Mate was searching for solution to connect the bottom and the top parts of the brewer that leaving the threaded join behind. The idea generation led to a built-in clamp system that is easy to open and close.
The design incorporates the classical shape of the Italian Moka Pot with a new clip lock. The upper part of the pot is made of glass in order to show when the brewing process is over and the device can be taken off the stove. The clamp joint that keeps the upper and the bottom parts together is made of standardized stainless steel parts. Moka Flick is a traditional coffee maker combined with an unconventional system that makes the device simple to open and close like an airtight clamp jar.
