At the end of the day set fire, 2019
Location: Asíni, Greece
Material: earthenware, sawdust, sea salt, pistachio shells, dry flower petals, sea weed, dry grass
In the warm, Mediterranean Greece, working with clay is a lot different from my experience. The material dries faster and the sun goes down earlier.
During my stay at a painter's house at the wonderful, inspiring countryside of Peloponnese, I got the opportunity to try pit firing. In a lovely, creative commune, without much equipment and only with few kilos of clay I practiced handbuilding.
The local conditions made my working method more spontaneous and myself more curious about the firing process and natural glazing techniques.
